Website redesign for non-profit
Raising Readers partners with every hospital, midwife, and primary care provider in Maine to give a library of high-quality books to every child, from birth through age 5. Visible Logic was tasked with updating the Raising Readers website to better showcase the curated books and demonstrate the impact of the program over the past twenty years.
The site needed to feel more contemporary but still connect to its history. We also worked with the client to audit and organize their content. The result is a friendly design and an easy-to-use back end.

Book Listing and Filtering
The Raising Readers program distributes books to children at specific developmental stages. Their curated list of recommended books had become valuable to people outside the program as a resource for finding age appropriate, high-quality books. Visible Logic developed a search and filter tool so parents and caregivers can easily find the right book from the hundreds listed on the site.
Favorites
In addition to the filtering of books, a “favorite” function was added, so users of the site could save their favorites then print, email or download their selections as a PDF. This created an easy way for users to make a list for purchase later or recommend to others.

Customized Illustrations
Raising Readers had an established illustrative style but they wanted a more modern clean look for their new site. Visible Logic created custom illustrations that felt accessible and inclusive of the types of families that access the program across Maine.

“Our team is so excited with the site Visible Logic has created for us.”
